A Mac OS alternative to iTunes
Oct 5th, 2007 by Kevin Holler
I’m confident when i say that Tunes is a load of Rubbish because a lot of people would agree with me. Now i am still relatively new to Mac OS and i have yet a lot to explore. Enough small that, lets get to get the point.
Recently i set out in search for an alternative to iTunes. I was really fed up of the poor library management and excess features i did not want nor need. And after trying various audio players, i eventually came across Cog
Cog is a simplistic audio player to do just as it says on the tin, play audio. And that it does. It does everything i want.
Pros:
- Easy Library management & importing of albums
- Simple search feature
- Supports top audio formats
- User friendy GUI - very minimal
Cons:
- Small community
- Slow development
- Apple remote doesn’t work with the app when it is minimized

All in all i am very impressed with this, and wanted to show my support. So i recommend you give it a try and help the community around it grow
